This is a guide to using the Craftivus till day to day. If something on your screen doesn't match what's described here, check with your manager — your shop may be running a slightly different version.
- Open the Craftivus till app.
- Enter your PIN.
- If you're the first person using this till today, you'll be asked to open the till before you can do anything else — see Opening the till.
Forgot your PIN? Only your manager can help — the till has no "forgot PIN" option, and Craftivus support cannot look up or reset it either. Your PIN is stored only on this device.
¶ Opening and closing the till
Every till must be opened before it can ring up a single sale, and this is not optional — it's how the till keeps an honest count of the cash drawer.
- Count the cash actually in the drawer.
- Enter that amount as the opening float.
- Tap Open till.
- Tap Close till on the main screen.
- If any sales haven't finished syncing to the server yet, you'll be told to wait or reconnect — you cannot close a till with unsynced sales, because the till can't yet know the true total.
- Physically count the cash in the drawer.
- Enter that count.
- The till shows you the expected cash (your opening float, plus every cash sale, minus every cash refund) next to what you counted. A mismatch isn't necessarily a problem — but it's worth mentioning to your manager if it's more than a small rounding difference.
- Scan each item, or type its code/search for it and tap it.
- Adjust quantity with the +/− buttons, or type
3*SKU010 (or 3xSKU010) in the scan box to add three at once in one go.
- A per-line discount can be entered directly on that line, up to whatever cap that item allows.
- A whole-sale discount (across the entire cart) requires a manager's PIN — tap Discount, then hand the till to a manager to approve it.
- Tap Complete sale, choose the payment method, enter the amount received, and confirm.
- The receipt prints automatically. If printing fails, the sale has already gone through — printing failure never cancels or reverses a completed sale. Use Print another copy from the result screen once the printer's working again.
You'll see a clear reason — usually "out of stock." Items that are genuinely services (not physical stock) never get blocked this way.
Sales still go through — they're saved on the till immediately and sent to the server automatically once the connection returns. You don't need to do anything differently. If a sale can't reach the server for a long time or gets rejected outright, it'll show up under "X sales need attention" — check with your manager.
- Tap Returns & Corrections.
- Enter the invoice number from the customer's receipt.
- For each item being returned, enter how many are coming back (you'll see if some of that line was already returned before).
- Optionally note a reason.
- Tap Process return — this always requires a manager's PIN, no exceptions.
- Choose how the customer is being refunded — it does not have to match how they originally paid (e.g. they paid by card, you can refund cash, if that's your shop's policy).
Use this only when the sale itself was a mistake — not for a customer bringing something back (that's a return, above).
- Tap Returns & Corrections, find the sale.
- Tap Void this sale, enter a reason.
- A manager must approve it.
- The sale is cancelled permanently — it stays visible in the records as cancelled, it isn't erased, and this cannot be undone once confirmed. If the sale already has a return processed against it, voiding it is blocked — talk to your manager.
If you rang up a sale as Cash but the customer actually paid by Card (or any other mix-up), don't try to redo the sale — use this instead:
- Tap Returns & Corrections, find the sale.
- Tap Fix payment method.
- Select what it was recorded as, what it should have been, and the amount.
- A manager must approve it.
This doesn't touch the original sale record — it books a separate correcting entry, which is exactly how an accountant would fix the same mistake.
Tap Printer from the main screen to configure how this till connects to its receipt printer (network/Wi-Fi, USB, or save-to-file for testing), paper width, and whether the cash drawer should pop open automatically after each sale. Settings are saved per till, not per cashier.
